Kylie, our rascal I love Kylie! She's such a character - really full of it - mischief and all! She is totally fearless. We had to lock the door from our bedroom to the deck and hide the key because she would sneak out there after we'd put her to bed at night (and very dark) to see if she could find the cats (they're still mostly outside, don't dare to come inside). Last week we took care of a guinea pig family for some friends who had gone out of town. Just like babies and cats, she also LOVES guinea pigs and was going into the garden all the time to see - and touch! them. We woke up one morning and the guinea pig cage was totally open - we knew it could have only been her doing, but weren't sure WHEN she had done it... She can get quite sneaky... You can imagine how relieved we were to find all 6 guinea pigs still inside the cage! A couple evenings ago, she stole some chocolate from Nathalie. When Rich confronted her about it, she first denied having eaten it (she had only eaten a little and hidden the rest). She was supposed to have had some ice-cream that evening and when Rich told her that she couldn't get any because she had eaten the chocolate, she quickly said, "Sorry, sorry, sorry...." and ran to find the chocolate she had hidden in our shoe closet. Yesterday, we wanted to take the family to the pool after dinner for a special treat/family outing at the end of the vacation. We tried to put Kylie down for a nap in the afternoon so that she could come with us, but she just wouldn't go to sleep, doing all kinds of mischief instead. So we told her that we couldn't go to the pool, since she hadn't taken a nap. She was heartbroken and exclaimed: "But Jesus loves me and he wants me to go to the pool!" We stayed home last night, much to the dismay of the other kids - - - Guess what happened today? She came to me around 2:00pm, telling me that she wanted to take a nap, so that we could go to the pool tonight. "And I'm not trouble" (meaning: I am not going to get into trouble). So, I took her to bed and she kept her word, had a long nap and guess where we went tonight??? Right! Had a great time at the pool. The only sad thing was that Jeremie couldn't be with us. He has come down with a cold and is not feeling well. This morning, like every Tuesday morning, I went to "Mainly Music" with Kylie and her friend Taylor. A great time of singing and dancing at the church and about 30-40 Mums with their littlies, most of them not Christians. Although we've only been going there a couple of times - since we moved - Kylie feels totally at home and during the free play time she goes all over the place. Every time I try to find her, all I have to do is look to where the little babies are, because she is always guaranteed to be with one of them. She loves them!!! As much as she is fearless and "rascaly", she is also very sweet, charming and gentle. She loves to play with dolls and will - no doubt - make a great mother one day :)
